Grimaldi Group, headquartered in Naples and represented for almost 30 years by Egekont operating under the Arkas umbrella in Türkiye, is strengthening its service network by adding a fourth vessel to its Ro-Ro service on the Trieste–Gemport line.
To meet growing customer demand, Naples-based Grimaldi Group will deploy a fourth vessel on its Ro-Ro service on the Trieste–Gemport line. As of 4 October 2025, the Eurocargo Roma, with a capacity of 250 units, will operate four regular weekly sailings.
The new vessel will provide services alongside Grimaldi’s environmentally friendly Eco Malta, Eco Mediterranea, and Eco Salerno. Each of these hybrid Ro-Ro vessels, with a capacity of over 500 trailers, reduces CO₂ emissions per cargo unit by 50% and achieves zero emissions during port stays, making them part of the most environmentally friendly fleets worldwide.
Triangular Connection with Patras Call
With the addition of a Patras call to Grimaldi Group’s Trieste–Patras–Ambarli line, a direct logistics bridge has been established between Italy, Greece, and Türkiye. Within the scope of this line, two regular weekly services are operated among these three ports, as well as five round trips between Trieste and Venice and Patras.
Sustainable Logistics Network in the Mediterranean
The Patras call is a strategic part of Grimaldi’s Motorways of the Sea network in the Mediterranean, facilitating regional trade. Transfer options via Venice and Bari connect southern and northern Italy to Türkiye. Operated with the eco-friendly Eco series vessels, the line reduces CO₂ emissions per cargo unit by half with its hybrid technology, offering sustainable transport solutions.
